Founder Shanay N. Scott established R.S.V.P. Inc. in the Spring 2012 on Lincoln University’s campus. R.S.V.P. was created with the intention of aiding in the emotional, mental, spiritual and social development of young college aged women specifically first generation college students. Shanay her self is a first generation college student who understood the need for community, acceptance and genuine relationships. The community of RSVP helped to facilitate difficult conversations around unique struggles for its early members. R.S.V.P. Inc. has since evolved into a 300 plus member non-profit organization. The organization has provided resources, mentorship and a safe space for dialogue and vulnerable self-discovery. Many of the participants of R.S.V.P. at Lincoln count R.S.V.P Inc. as one of their greatest resources in completing and excelling in college and building lasting friendships. Due to the Overwhelming response from faculty and Lincoln University Participants, Shanay was then, inspired to offer the program in the form of a high school curriculum.
